About Angelena and Christine

How it All Started

We share a love of the great find: whether it be a fantastic product or life-changing experience. What’s more, we both love to share. Exuberantly! We worked together. Loved it. Raised our kids together. Loved it. Christine moved to the Midwest and we have been trying to partner on a new project ever since. After throwing around many ideas and a hilarious story involving a podcast and salad dressing we decided to launch a newsletter. We will forever be bonded over Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books, our consistent answer when asked if we need the dessert menu-”yes”, and our fear of being serenaded.

After much discussion, we agreed that each of us should write the bio for the other. So without further ado...

Angelena

With wonderful experience gained from working in a well-known stationer and school for graphic design, Angelena ventured out to create the studio of her dreams. I walked into her store and loved the bespoke papers and charming gifts. I asked Angelena to hire me. We quickly became a fun team and lifelong friends. I loved watching Angelena with customers. It was her intention to create the perfect papers for most life’s precious moments.

Angelena has the ability to cook amazing meals without recipes or measurements, something I am in awe of.  She is an equally good baker and has a long list of skills which can only be learned by growing up on a farm with entrepreneurial parents.

She loves wide open spaces, especially westward. She has introduced me to some of the most incredible brands of chocolate and if that’s not a good friend, I don’t know what is.

Some of my most cherished possessions are the exquisite papers she created for my wedding and birth announcements. She is the perfect travel companion and I can’t say that about many people. I wish other people had someone like Angelena to go through life with.

Christine

This may sound provocative but one of the luckiest days of my life was meeting Christine’s boyfriend. It led me to my dear friend and work partner!

Christine is a fun loving, hardworking, smart, organized person. Fun fact, she is certified to teach acrobatics and bakes over 250 sugar cookies at Christmas to give her kids the best cookie decorating party.

She is a great friend in the fun times and a superlative friend in the hard times. We have been through both together.

It is still difficult for me to believe she worked in politics [!] not because she doesn’t seem capable but it starkly contrasts her time in teaching dance and amazing skills with children. I have learned so much from her about both.

While I deeply admire her considered approach to life; willingness to try new things; drive for success; organization skills; and mastery of the kitchen, there is something else that is very important: Christine cares enough about her people to tell them the truth, even if they don’t like it. That for me is the mark of a most excellent friend. So, here’s to working, playing, parenting, traveling, and our families just doing life together!
